OnePlus Watch Lite: slim steel body, bright OLED and up to 10 days of battery life

Besides the smartphone and tablet, OnePlus also showed off a new smart watch. Despite the Lite prefix in the name, the OnePlus Watch Lite turned out to be quite premium. The watch is made of 316L stainless steel and has a case that’s only 8.9mm thick. That’s thinner than most smart watches on the market, making the Watch Lite the thinnest OnePlus model to date. The device is available in Silver Steel and Black Steel colors, and both versions come with fluoroelastomer straps.

The watch features a 1.46-inch OLED display that can reach up to 3000 nits of brightness in sport mode. Aqua Touch is available for water sports, and the screen recognizes touches even with wet fingers.

OnePlus Watch Lite doesn’t run on Wear OS and uses its own operating system. This solution has its limitations, but the main plus is obvious: autonomy. The watch can last up to 10 days without charging, and fast charging allows you to get up to 24 hours of use in just 10 minutes. It’s compatible with both Android and iOS, and the dual-connect feature lets you pair the watch with two Android devices at the same time.

In terms of sports and fitness, the Watch Lite supports more than 100 workout modes, 12 of which are categorized as “professional.” These include running, tennis, jump rope and badminton. In badminton mode, the watch analyzes swing speed, stroke distribution, and movement types.

Running mode uses accurate dual-band GPS (L1/L5) and has a new lactate threshold detection function. During gym workouts, the watch can broadcast heart rate data to compatible sports equipment.

There are also advanced health monitoring features. These include a 60-second well-being overview, advanced sleep analysis that takes into account blood oxygen levels, breathing and heart rate, and skin temperature measurement. For the heart, current heart rate, average heart rate, resting heart rate and SpOâ‚‚ are available.

Pre-orders for the OnePlus Watch Lite started today, and the watch will go on sale on December 24. The recommended price is £180 / €180, with the charging base sold separately for £30.
