Nothing has revealed the design of the Ear (3) headphones ahead of the official launch

Nothing has published a teaser of its flagship Ear (3) headphones days ahead of their official announcement, which will take place on September 18. The preview shows off the new design, combining transparent elements with premium materials and adding curious features.

For the first time in its lineup, Nothing uses metal in the construction of TWS headphones. Both the charging case and the headphones themselves have been given inserts made from recycled anodized aluminum, making them more durable and giving them a premium look. However, the metal bottom of the case calls wireless charging support into question.

The earbuds themselves have been slightly redesigned for better comfort and get a thinner 0.35mm-thick metal antenna for improved connectivity. There are smaller gaps in the design, which makes the look neater than previous models.

The most mysterious detail was an item built into the case called «Talk» — the company has yet to reveal its purpose. It’s expected that the button could provide quick access to a voice assistant or deeper integration with AI. Nothing has also hinted at a «Super Mic» feature that should improve call quality and interaction with assistants.

The manufacturer will leave details about sound and autonomy until after the presentation. Nothing is positioning the Ear (3) as a premium solution that will be sold alongside the more affordable Ear (a) model. The new design and mysterious features make it one of the brand’s most ambitious developments.
