iOS 26 will add new features to the Powerbeats Pro 2

With the release of iOS 26, the Powerbeats Pro 2 headphones will receive a number of updates that will expand their sporting capabilities and make them more convenient to use. Apple released the Powerbeats Pro 2 in February — it’s the brand’s first headphones with a heart-rate sensor. Now their functionality will be closer to the AirPods Pro 3, also equipped with heart rate monitoring.

Integration with «Fitness»

With iOS 26, the Powerbeats Pro 2 will be able to send heart rate data directly to the «Fitness» app on the iPhone, according to a Beats spokesperson. This will allow you to track your heart rate and calories burned in more than 50 types of workouts without the need to wear an Apple Watch.

Apple Fitness+ subscribers will be able to see real-time metrics right on their iPhone: heart rate, calories and Burn Bar.

New features of Powerbeats Pro 2

With the iOS 26 update and fresh firmware, the Powerbeats Pro 2 will receive a number of improvements:

• Using one earpiece to monitor heart rate during a workout;
• counting your steps even when your iPhone is not nearby;
• simultaneous operation with Apple Watch when measuring heart rate;
• new interactions with Siri — you can nod to answer «yes» or shake your head to «no» for incoming calls, reading messages and notifications;
• accelerated heart rate measurement algorithm;
• notifications to correct headphone fit for more accurate data;

Release date and price

iOS 26 will be released on September 15, the same day the Powerbeats Pro 2 firmware update is expected to be released. The Powerbeats Pro 2 and AirPods Pro 3 remain priced the same — $249, with the Powerbeats offering a sportier design with locking earbuds for a secure fit.
