The iFixit team carefully disassembled Apple’s new AirPods Pro 3 wireless earbuds to determine how difficult they are to repair. The result was disappointing: the accessory is virtually unrepairable. In the event of a malfunction, it is not recommended to even attempt to disassemble either the earbuds themselves or their charging case.

The iFixit team also took apart the new Apple AirPods Pro 3 wireless earbuds to determine how difficult they are to repair.

Theoretically, the headphone case can be separated after heating with a special tool, but this is essentially the only thing that can be done. As with previous versions, the batteries and internal connections are firmly attached with adhesive. Combined with the very compact design, this makes replacing the batteries virtually impossible.

The charging case can also be disassembled, but not repaired. All of the internal components are securely glued together. iFixit notes that Apple apparently did not originally intend for these headphones to be repairable.
