Apple Music and SoundCloud have restricted access to eight Noize MC* tracks in Russia

Russian users can no longer listen to eight tracks by Noize MC* (recognized as a foreign agent in Russia) on Apple Music and SoundCloud. The list of hidden songs includes tracks from the album “Not All Home” and “Childfree” (written together with Monetochka** (recognized in the Russian Federation as a foreign agent)).

Apple Music and SoundCloud have restricted access to a number of the artist’s tracks. In particular, the following songs are unavailable: “Cooperative «Swan Lake»,” “Rain Country,” “Not Everyone is Home,” “Cryocameras” and “Childfree” (vocal version). The instrumental version of the latter remains in the catalog for now. A total of 8 songs have disappeared, some of them are alternative versions of the same songs.

The reasons for the removal have not been officially disclosed. However, sources indicate that the restrictions were insisted on by Roskomnadzor. It’s noteworthy that the blocking of the “Childfree” track was not publicly reported earlier.

SoundCloud also restricted access to the same songs. This may be due to the general practice of filtering content by region or an independent decision by the platform in response to possible claims from the Russian authorities.

Russian music services had previously hidden tracks by Noize MC* (a foreign agent) at the regulator’s request in March. And in late April, the St. Petersburg prosecutor’s office demanded that the song “Cooperative «Swan Lake»” be banned. According to the courts’ press service, experts from the Herzen Russian State Pedagogical University found in the lyrics signs of forming a negative attitude toward the government and the Russian president.

Apple, despite its de facto withdrawal from the country, continues to comply with the demands of Russian authorities. Earlier it was reported that some TV series and seasons of TV series were removed from the Apple TV+ service because they violated some laws of the Russian Federation.
