Samsung shows OLED monitors with 500 Hz refresh rate

Ahead of CES 2025, which kicks off this week, Samsung has unveiled its new lineup of monitors. The brand is releasing four new OLED monitors this year: the Odyssey OLED G6 (G60SF), Odyssey OLED G8 (G81SF), Odyssey 3D (G90XF), and Smart Monitor M9 (M90SF).

Record-breaking performance monitors for gamers
One of the most impressive monitors in the lineup is the updated Odyssey OLED G6 (G60SF), which sets a new standard for gaming displays. It’s a 27-inch monitor with QHD resolution and an incredible refresh rate of up to 500Hz. It’s the first OLED monitor to achieve such a high refresh rate, making it the ideal choice for cybersports and high framerate gaming.

The monitor features support for AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and Nvidia G-Sync technologies, as well as VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification. Both monitors are expected to utilize Samsung Display’s QD-OLED panels.

Professional gaming experience with Odyssey OLED G8
The Odyssey OLED G8 (G81SF) is a 27-inch OLED monitor with 4K resolution, 165 ppi pixel density and 240Hz refresh rate. This monitor is the world’s first OLED monitor with 4K resolution and 240Hz refresh rate. AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and Nvidia G-Sync technologies are also supported, and the monitor has VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification.
New 3D experience without glasses
Another new product is the Odyssey 3D monitor (G90XF), which doesn’t require 3D glasses. It’s available in 27-inch and 32-inch screen versions, and both use a 4K OLED panel with a 165Hz refresh rate. The model has one DisplayPort 1.4 port and two HDMI 2.1 ports.

Odyssey 3D features a lenticular lens and stereophonic front camera that tracks eye movement and displays 3D images without the need for special glasses. This solution was first unveiled at Gamescom in August 2024.
