Samsung launches the world’s first 500hertz OLED monitor

Samsung has begun the global launch of its latest Odyssey OLED G6 monitor, first unveiled at CES 2025. Southeast Asian markets – including Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia – will be the first to receive the new product.
Characteristics for gamers and beyond
Odyssey OLED G6 (model G60SF) features a 27-inch QHD display (2560 × 1440 pixels) with QD-OLED technology. Its main features include a record-breaking 500Hz refresh rate and a gray-to-gray response time of only 0.03ms.
The display is AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible certified, which helps eliminate image tearing in dynamic scenes. The display also meets the VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 standard for high dynamic range with deep blacks.
The display is also VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 compliant and delivers high dynamic range with deep blacks.

Fade protection and high color accuracy
Samsung has equipped the monitor with its proprietary OLED Safeguard+ technology, which prevents matrix burn-in when displaying static elements for long periods of time. The display can also automatically reduce brightness on unchanging parts of the image, such as logos and the taskbar. Glare Free coating is used to reduce glare.
The Odyssey G6 can reach peak brightness of up to 1,000 nits, but that level is realized mostly when displaying HDR content. Another important feature is Pantone Validated certification – the monitor accurately reproduces more than 2,100 colors and over 110 skin tones from the Pantone library.

Innovative cooling and price
The cooling uses a dynamic system with pulsating heat pipes that circulate vaporizing and condensing coolant. This system dissipates heat five times faster than a graphite plate.
In Singapore, the Odyssey OLED G6 is priced at S$1,488 (roughly $1,147). Pre-orders are already open in several Southeast Asian countries, and sales are expected to gradually expand to other regions in the coming months.
