Samsung unveiled the Odyssey OLED G50SF gaming monitor with QD-OLED screen and 180Hz frequency

Samsung has launched the new Odyssey OLED G50SF gaming monitor. This model is a more affordable alternative to last year’s 27-inch Odyssey OLED G60SF, which offered a 500Hz refresh rate and 1440p resolution for $999, but now sells for about $819 in the U.S.
The Odyssey OLED G50SF features a 27-inch flat-panel QD-OLED display with QHD (2560×1440 pixels) resolution. Via DisplayPort, the monitor supports refresh rates up to 180 Hz, and via HDMI — up to 144 Hz. The response time is only 0.03 ms (GTG), which ensures a crisp image even in dynamic games. The screen covers 99% of the DCI-P3 color space and supports the HDR10 standard, providing deep blacks, vivid accents and high detail. The viewing angle is 178° horizontally and vertically.
Samsung has added Glare-Free technology to reduce reflections, as well as Eye Saver Mode and Flicker Free to reduce eye fatigue. The monitor supports tilt adjustment, VESA mount and has a sleek black design. It also features pixel burn-in protection and temperature control for longer life. The QD-OLED panel offers a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1 and a typical brightness of 200 nits.

The monitor features one DisplayPort 1.2 port, one HDMI 2.0 port, and a headphone jack. It’s compatible with AMD FreeSync and Nvidia’s G-Sync technologies for smooth, lossless gaming. Power is supplied via an external adapter: standard power consumption is 28W, maximum — 78W. The weight of the device — 3.3 kg with the stand and 2.5 kg without it. The stand supports tilting from -2° to 15° as well as wall mounting via the VESA 100×100 standard.
In New Zealand, the Odyssey OLED G50SF costs NZ$899 (about $517), in China — 2,649 yuan (about $372), in Taiwan — 13,900 Taiwanese dollars (about $455), and in Indonesia — 7,999,000 rupiah (about $482). Samsung has not yet announced a global launch, but the monitor is expected to hit the global market later this year.
