IFA 2025: Lenovo updated the powerful ThinkPad P16 Gen 3 and P1 Gen 8 laptops

At IFA 2025, Lenovo unveiled updates to its top-performing ThinkPad P16 Gen 3 and ThinkPad P1 Gen 8 laptops. Both devices get new Intel Arrow Lake processors and advanced graphics.
ThinkPad P16 Gen 3: maximize performance
The ThinkPad P16 Gen 3 is the flagship of the series. It has a starting price of $3,339. Inside, it features the latest Intel Core Ultra 200HX processors, available Nvidia RTX Pro graphics cards up to the top-of-the-line version, up to 192GB of DDR5 RAM, and up to 12TB of NVMe PCIe Gen5 storage. A 16-inch OLED display with 3.2K resolution and touch controls is available as an option.
The laptop weighs from 5.6 pounds (about 2.5 kg) and is an inch thicker, making it quite bulky. But the model has a removable battery and two Thunderbolt 5 ports.



ThinkPad P1 Gen 8: smaller and lighter
For those who value mobility, Lenovo offers the ThinkPad P1 Gen 8. It features Intel Core Ultra 200 H-series processors and Nvidia RTX Pro 2000 graphics (instead of the P16’s RTX Pro 5000). There’s support for up to two Thunderbolt 5 ports and an option with a 16-inch OLED display.
The case is just 0.8 inches thick and weighs about 1.8 pounds. The model has a starting price of $2,819.
Legion Pro 7 and new gaming monitors
Interestingly, the heaviest device in the lineup wasn’t a work laptop, but a gaming Legion Pro 7. At 1.05 inches thick, it weighs in at 6 pounds (about 2.7 kg). Pricing starts at $2,399. Configurations include an AMD Ryzen 9955HX3D processor and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 graphics card, allowing you to run modern games on a 16-inch OLED display with a 240Hz refresh rate.
For those who prefer an external screen, Lenovo also introduced new OLED gaming monitors:
