Fplus launched Flaptop i5-16512 laptop with Russian OS “OSnova”

Fplus from Russia has introduced a new laptop called Flaptop i5-16512, which is powered by an Intel Core processor. One of the key features of this device is the pre-installed Russian OSnova operating system. Previously, this OS was only available in the corporate sector, but now it is also available in the consumer segment.
The laptop features a 15.6-inch IPS screen with Full HD resolution. The Intel Core i5-1235U processor (10 cores/12 threads) combined with 16GB of RAM is responsible for the device’s performance. The SSD storage capacity is 512 GB. The built-in battery provides up to 7 hours of battery life without a power source.
The Basis operating system, based on the Linux kernel, is positioned as a solution with a high level of personal data protection. It’s targeted at home use and includes the MoyOffice suite of applications for working with documents, as well as Yandex.Browser, Chromium, Konqueror, and Wine software for running Windows applications.
Basic’s operating system is based on a Linux kernel.

Fplus’ strategy is aimed at expanding the offer of domestic products in the IT sector. We see consumer interest in domestic laptops: their sales doubled in 2023, reaching the level of 256 thousand units, so we plan to continue to develop the direction of Fplus laptops and supplement them with domestic operating systems,” – said – Alexei Gerasev, head of product localization at Fplus.
