Acer unveiled two Chromebook Plus Spin 714 and Plus 516 GE gaming laptops

Acer has unveiled two new Chrome OS-powered laptops. The Chromebook Plus Spin 714 and Chromebook Plus 516 GE feature powerful Intel Core Ultra processors, while the second model is also positioned as a gaming device.

The Chromebook Plus Spin 714 has a 14-inch IPS touchscreen display with a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels, brightness up to 340 nits, and full sRGB gamut coverage. It can be opened 360° to be used as a tablet. The novelty has a 53Wh battery and a qHD resolution webcam. There are four configuration options with different processors: the Intel Core Ultra 7 165U, Ultra 7 155U, Ultra 5 125U or Ultra 5 115U. It also has two Thunderbolt ports.

The Chromebook Plus 516 GE has a 16-inch display with a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels, 120Hz refresh rate, and full coverage of the sRGB color space. This model’s performance is powered by Intel Core 7 150U or Core 5 120U processors, depending on configuration.
The two laptops feature a four-zone backlit keyboard, an Ethernet port (2.5Gbps), and a 65Wh battery. Acer is positioning the Chromebook Plus 516 GE as a gaming device with support for NVIDIA GeForce Now, Amazon Luna, and Xbox Cloud Gaming.
