Honor showed big growth in smartphone sales in the first quarter of 2023

While global smartphone shipments continue to decline, Honor showed impressive growth in several key markets, including Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America. Based on data from Counterpoint Research, the company saw 400% growth in the European market, which is now almost unheard of for other brands in the region.
Honor separated from Huawei in November 2020 and returned as an independent brand in Europe in October 2021. Over the years, the company has partnered with some of Europe’s largest mobile carriers, including Vodafone, Orange and Wind Tre.
Honor has been a major player in the region for several years.
The Honor 50 and 70 series served as key growth drivers during 2022 and this year. The Honor X and Magic series are also very popular in Europe.
Honor has also seen tremendous growth in the Middle East and Africa, where shipments increased 500% year over year. The company is now in the top five in terms of shipments to the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Iraq.

Latin America was also the strongest region for Honor in terms of shipments in the first quarter with a 700% increase over last year’s numbers. Honor shipments more than tripled from the fourth quarter of 2022, and the company posted growth in all key markets in the region, including a top five in Colombia and Peru, along with large shipments in Panama and Guatemala.
Latin America was also Honor’s strongest region in terms of shipments in the first quarter.
