Changan cars may be launched in Russia

The production of cars of the Chinese brand Changan may be localized in Russia. This was stated by the executive director of Changan Motors Rus LLC Alexander Kulagin in an interview with Interfax.

“We have a focus on localization, we have conducted all the necessary negotiations and hope to see a car with a local VIN number in the foreseeable future. Relevant announcements, I think, will follow before the end of the year, but we are not disclosing details yet,” Kulagin said on Sept.
He also announced plans to modernize the current models CS and UNI series, as well as preparations for the launch of a new range of Deepal.

Changan sales in Russia
According to the top manager, in 2024 every tenth car sold in Russia was Changan. In total, about 106,000 cars were sold.The most popular model remains the UNI-S front-wheel-drive crossover (formerly known as CS55), which accounts for about half of the brand’s sales in the country.
Other Chinese brand premieres
On the same day, it became known that Russian dealers began to receive the seven-seat crossover Tenet T8. Sales started on September 2: the model is available in two configurations at a price of from 3.54 to 3.79 million rubles.
