The fourth river route Kievsky – Luzhniki will be launched in Moscow

A new river route will appear in the capital by 2026, which will connect Kievsky station and Luzhniki. Now there are three year-round lines, on which electric boats run.

Modern river transportation in Moscow

Moscow’s river transportation was the world’s first electric-powered water public transportation available year-round. Now three routes carry more than 1.8 million passengers a year.

The capital’s fleet includes 29 vessels. According to the mayor Sergey Sobyanin, electric ships have already passed more than a million kilometers since the beginning of regular routes operation.

New route and transportation system development

The launch of the fourth route is scheduled for 2026. The Kievsky-Luzhniki line will continue the development of water communication and improve the transport accessibility of popular city districts.
