Skoda has revealed the Vision O electric station wagon
Today’s car market is flooded with crossovers and SUVs, and station wagons have all but disappeared from manufacturers’ ranges. But Skoda has set out to prove otherwise. At the Munich Motor Show, the company unveiled the Vision O concept — a bold statement that station wagons still have a future. Moreover, it is in this format that the next generation of the brand’s most popular model — Skoda Octavia will appear.
The current gasoline-powered Octavia remains the brand’s best-selling model, and rather than abandon the proven formula in the electric car era, Skoda has decided to adapt it. The electric Octavia will go on sale by 2028, retaining the «station wagon» body and becoming the company’s first model on the SSP platform, which the upcoming Volkswagen ID will also receive. Golf.

Vision O showcases the new «Modern Solid» signature styling. This is the first time the Octavia has been given such a powerful and aggressive look with the original «tech-loop» light signature. The body is characterized by sharp lines, square arches and massive shapes. Some elements will remain only show-car-like — such as the rear doors with reverse opening. But the darkened rear pillar and the concave trunk lid with illuminated lettering «Skoda» will quite reach the production version.
The main innovation inside —s a completely redesigned interior. The dashboard is gone, replaced by a 1.2-meter-long Horizon Display integrated at the base of the windshield. It is complemented by a large vertical touchscreen display in the center. The console houses two wireless chargers and a rotary controller with haptic feedback. Controls are also supported by Laura’s proprietary voice assistant.

The dimensions of the concept are impressive too, measuring 4,850mm in length, 152mm longer than the current Octavia Combi. This gives a spacious interior and a 650-liter trunk. Among the unusual solutions — a built-in fridge, a portable Bluetooth speaker and four hidden umbrellas.
The concept’s features include an integrated fridge, a portable Bluetooth speaker and four hidden umbrellas.
Skoda is keeping quiet about the technical stuff, but it is known that the SSP platform is designed for fast charging with an 800-volt architecture. The software is being developed in conjunction with Rivian. In addition, there will almost certainly be a sporty version of the Octavia vRS with increased power and aggressive design.

Vision O makes it clear: Skoda has no intention of giving up on station wagons and is ready to turn them into a symbol of its electric era.
