Xiaomi has officially confirmed that its next version of its operating system will be called HyperOS 3, denying rumors of a possible HyperOS 26 name. The update will be based on Android 16.
The Chinese brand said in a post on Weibo that HyperOS 3 will be unveiled on August 28 at an event in China.
In a separate post, Lu Weibing noted that the new version will improve the smoothness of the interface and responsiveness of the system. It’s still unclear exactly what that means, but full details are promised to be revealed tomorrow.

Simmediately after the presentation, Xiaomi will release the first beta version of HyperOS 3 to supported devices. The Xiaomi 15 series, Redmi K80 Pro/Ultimate Edition, Pad 7S Pro 12.5 and Pad 7 Pro will get the update at launch in China.
