WWDC 2024: Apple showed off the new macOS 15 – Sequoia
By ForGeeks At its annual presentation, Apple unveiled an update to macOS 15. The new version is called macOS Sequoia. Here are the most important updates coming to macOS.
Screencasting – iPhone Mirroring
Now you can broadcast your smartphone screen to your computer screen without taking it out of your pocket! And you can do everything, absolutely everything, on your smartphone’s screen using your MacBook’s keyboard and touchpad. And you can even listen to sound from your iPhone on your Mac.
Notifications from your phone can also open on your computer screen. And when you click on them, the app opens immediately. Your iPhone isn’t physically unlocked, though – if you hold it in your hand, you’ll see your lock screen.
You can drag and drop files between devices and that’s fine. You can customize the layout of windows in macOS with hotkeys! You can also replace the background in any app when making video calls, and it will receive the corrected video stream and send it to the person you’re talking to.
Safari
The new Safari lasts four hours longer than Chrome. The browser will now have a Highlights feature that can use machine learning to show you information that is key to you that is on a web page.
The browser can now recognize that you’re watching a video and display it in a separate screen. Reading mode will be able to give you a short clip of the article next to the article itself.
Game Mode
The Mac will have improved support for Windows games thanks to a new version of the Game Porting Toolkit, which developers can use to port games to macOS. And more macOS games are on the way.
