LG Channels application for watching LG TV channels became available in Russia

Kommersant reported that LG has re-launched its LG Channels TV app in Russia. With this app, owners of the South Korean brand’s TV sets do not need to connect a cable antenna to access TV.
The app is available in Russia.
According to Larisa Senina, director of large home appliances at Marvel Distribution, users who subscribe to LG Channels will get access to about 140 channels. However, most of them are already available in subscriptions from online movie theaters such as ivi or Okko.
Lassa Senina, director of large home appliances at Marvel Distribution, said.
The new app was developed by LG’s research center in St. Petersburg. It appeared in the branded app store at the end of March 2024, and the developer is listed as LGERA — LG Electronics Rus.
The LG Channels service stopped operating in Russia in 2022. However, a year later it became known that LG’s Polish factory in Mlawa started installing Smart TV software adapted for the Russian market on TV sets. According to Larisa Senina, the company is trying to maintain its position on the Russian market, although there has been no official announcement of its return.
