The iPhone’s Photos app has a new way to restore media

Apple introduced a new iPhone feature in the «Photos» apps for iOS 18, iOS 18, iPadOS 18 and macOS Sequoia to help users recover lost or corrupted images and videos.
There’s now a new «Recovered» album in the «Utilities» section of the «Photos» app. It will display photos and videos that for some reason did not make it to the main gallery. The reasons for the loss can vary: database corruption, third-party camera apps, or camera-accessible apps.
When you update to iOS 18, iPadOS 18, or macOS Sequoia, your iPhone, iPad, and Mac will automatically scan your device for lost photos and videos. If they’re found, they appear in the «Recovered» album.

Users will be able to either restore lost photos and videos to the main gallery or delete them permanently.
The new «Recovered» feature will help users save valuable photos and videos that may have been lost due to various technical issues.
