Remote music downloads to Wear OS watches are now possible
Spotify has added the ability to download music to any authorized user’s device, including smartphones, tablets, and smartwatches. Now there’s no need to interact with the Galaxy Watch’s tiny screen – you can do it all through your phone.
To download music to the Galaxy Watch from a Galaxy smartphone or tablet, just tap the three dots next to the playlist you want in Spotify, then select “Download to another device” and tap the download icon next to the watch’s name. This works on Apple devices as well: iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. You don’t need to be physically close to your device to download remotely.

New section for managing downloads simplifies storage control
Spotify has also introduced a new download management tool. The “Manage Downloads” button in the drop-down menu lets you quickly see on which devices a particular playlist has been downloaded. This is especially useful given the limit of five offline-enabled devices. You can also remove playlists from gadgets you don’t need from here.
The feature has been tested on the Galaxy S23 Ultra with One UI 7 and the Galaxy Watch 4 on Wear OS 5.0 – it works consistently.
Available only to Spotify Premium subscribers
It’s important to note that this feature is only available to users with a Spotify Premium subscription. Without it, you won’t be able to use remote downloading or offline playback.
