Apple is developing its own language model, internally dubbed Siri LLM. It should address the limitations of the current version of the assistant and provide a more accurate and personalized experience. However, as Bloomberg notes, the company has run into infrastructure problems and underestimated the value of generative AI for mass-market devices.

Over the past year, Siri has gained only minor features: text input capabilities and calendar integration. And users have noticed a decline in the quality of recognizing and understanding queries. In fact, Apple even pulled a commercial with Bella Ramsey that showed Siri demonstrating her ability to answer questions about recent meetings, prompting accusations that it was inaccurate.

According to Gurman, Apple will focus on redesigning the iOS, iPadOS, and macOS interfaces at WWDC 2025. The changes will likely be inspired by the interface of the Vision Pro headset. Minor, non-AI updates are also expected.

The conference itself will take place on June 9. However, no significant announcements regarding Siri and generative AI are expected. Moreover, according to Bloomberg, the full release of the updated assistant is only a few months away.
