“Kinopoisk” added the format of movies for the visually impaired
By ForGeeks Kinopoisk has added tiflo commentary to movies in its online movie theater, so that blind users can now listen to the information they need to understand the plot in the pauses between characters’ dialogues. Tiflo commentary — short descriptions of characters, actions and settings in movies and TV series, which are accompanied by an audio track.
The new feature has already appeared in more than 60 projects presented in the online cinema, including classics from Mosfilm, children’s cartoons and fairy tales, new releases popular on the platform and Kinopoisk’s own projects, such series as Inye, Cicadas, and Cyber Village.
We would like to point out that all blind users of the online cinema have gained access to all key scripts, video playback, movie and TV series previews, as well as selections on the homepage. Also on the platform there is now an option to enlarge the font, decorative graphic elements are hidden, and text descriptions of features have appeared. And in order to easily search for movies and TV series with typhlocommentaries, you can use special selections and lists of movies on the main page of Kinopoisk.
