Google has updated the Google Photos viewer on Android

The redesign of Google Photos continues, with the new photo viewer now available to Android users after its release on iOS last month.
What’s changed in the Google Photos interface
The updated Photo view immediately displays the date, time, and location of the photo at the top of the screen, saving an extra swipe. There are only two main buttons in the corner: Favorites (asterisk) and the three-dot menu.
The action carousel has been removed from the bottom panel, focusing on the library and detailed information about the photo.
- About – details about the photo (place, time, characteristics);
- Google Lens – there is no separate button anymore, but search is available via Circle to Search;
- Create – collages, movies, cinematic photos and converting a shot to video;
- Order photo – print order;
- Additional features: “Use as”, slideshow, broadcast to screen, download, delete, print, help and feedback;

New features and visual changes
Google calls the update “simpler, more modern and intuitive.” In addition, a light-colored interface theme has been added.
- change the photo category,
- enable or stop Live/Motion shot,
- save captured images to the library,
- manage backup and storage.
A new icon with three dots on the thumbnail has been added to work with photo series and batches. You can use it to change the main frame, split a series, or apply mass actions.

The four main buttons at the bottom of the screen are now Share, Edit (new icon), Add to (album, archive or protected folder) and Trash.
When the update is available
The redesigned viewer is already rolling out en masse with version Google Photos 7.42 for Android.
