Apple released macOS Tahoe 26 Public Beta 5: How to install the update

Apple continues its weekly cycle of test builds and has released the fifth public beta macOS Tahoe 26. The final release is expected as early as next month.
Should I install the beta?
Like any beta, macOS Tahoe 26 Public Beta 5 may contain bugs. Even stable features from previous builds may stop working unexpectedly.
Apple recommends that you install test versions only on an additional Mac or a separate disk partition. If you decide to put the beta version on your main computer, be sure to back up your data.

How to install macOS Tahoe 26 Public Beta 5
- Go to Apple Beta Software Program and register.
- Open System Preferences
- Go to General → Software Update
- Click the “i” icon next to “Beta Updates.”
- From the drop-down menu, select macOS Tahoe 26 Public Beta
- Confirm the action with the “Done” button.
