Android users can now download Photoshop for mobile devices. Adobe announced Tuesday that it has released a beta version of its Photoshop app for Android, four months after launching a similar app for the iPhone.

The app offers the same set of editing tools as the desktop version, including working with layers and masking, but is optimized for mobile devices. During the initial beta period, users will be able to use all of the app’s features for free.

The features include the ability to combine and blend images using tools such as selection, layers and masks. Artificial Intelligence features are also available, such as Generative Fill, which lets you add or transform elements in your images. You can quickly remove or replace parts of images with the Tap Select tool, and there’s access to a library of free Adobe Stock assets, layer control, and effects through blend modes and adjustment layers.

Users can get rid of distracting elements with the “Spot Healing Brush” and enhance images with the “Delete” and “Clone Stamp” tools. The “Object Select” and “Magic Wish” features let you make more precise selections.

Putting Photoshop on mobile devices allows Adobe to attract new users, especially younger users who are used to using smartphones for creative tasks. As for those who already use Photoshop on PCs, Adobe notes that the mobile app makes the service more accessible to those who prefer to work on their phones.
