On Wednesday, Google announced a new feature that makes it much easier to use Artificial Intelligence Mode on mobile devices. With this updated functionality, users will be able to ask tough questions and get clarification to dig deeper into topics of interest right in search.

The Chrome browser will now have a dedicated button below the search bar when you open a new tab, providing quick access to AI mode. The feature has already launched in the US and will soon be available in 160 countries and languages, including Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, and Portuguese.

Google hopes that this simplified access to AI mode will encourage users to use its services more often, competing with solutions from companies like OpenAI and their ChatGPT Search.

The update coincides with Google’s global expansion of AI Mode, which is now available in 180 new countries and additional languages. AI Mode was originally launched in March 2023 to combat popular competitors, and Google has been adding new features and improvements ever since.

Yesterday, Google unveiled new agency features in AI Mode that allow users to book tickets to events and book treatments at health and beauty salons. The feature was first announced in August, when the ability to make restaurant reservations was made available.

The Canvas – feature was also introduced in July and helps you create syllabi and organize information across multiple sessions right in the sidebar. This feature was recently updated with Google Lens integration, allowing you to ask about content displayed on your computer screen.
