“Yandex Music has made its apps accessible for blind users – in the latest version for Android and iOS the interface has already been adapted, soon it will affect the web version of the service,” — according to Yandex.

As the developers promise, the updated Yandex Music apps now fully work with VoiceOver and TalkBack screen readers – screen access programs built into the operating systems of modern mobile devices.
Screen readers read aloud the contents of the screen. They need special markup to faithfully reproduce the interface. The developers of Yandex Music have provided markup for all significant elements of the interface – My Wave, sections, controls and navigation elements that affect interaction with the service – and have also implemented new development processes to ensure that all future app updates take into account the specifics of how blind users interact with the service.
“We are committed to making music accessible to everyone – this summer Yandex Music first held music events at Plus Dacha with Russian sign language interpreters – especially for hearing impaired and deaf guests. Now we have made a big step towards making the service available to blind users. We are happy that they will be able to enjoy their favorite music, listen to audiobooks and podcasts without limitations,” — says the head of Yandex Music Alexandra Sagalovich.
