Google Pixel 10a: leaked renders
An official render of the Google Pixel 10a has leaked online, and at first it may seem like we’re looking at an image of the Pixel 9a. However, there’s nothing surprising about it — the upcoming model of the series «a» was not initially expected to have a new design.
An official render of the Pixel 10a has leaked online, and at first it may seem like we’re looking at a Pixel 9a.
First, CAD renders of the smartphone have previously appeared. Second, back in August, Google said that it updates the Pixel’s design about every two to three years. Given that the Pixel 9a was noticeably different from the 8a, the next redesign probably shouldn’t come until the Pixel 11a at the earliest.
With the Pixel 9a being a markedly different design from the 8a, the next redesign is probably not due until the Pixel 11a.
This isn’t necessarily a downside, though. There aren’t many smartphones with a display around 6.3 inches today, especially in this price segment. The Pixel 10a’s screen is 6.3 inches diagonal (actually 6.285″), and the bezels around it are quite wide — which is to be expected for an affordable model.

The camera deserves a special mention. Smartphones with a fully or nearly recessed camera unit are few and far between right now, and the Pixel 10a remains among them. The camera module is still dual, though visually it’s a bit larger. According to leaks, the main camera will get a 48MP sensor with an aperture of f/1.7, while the ultra-wide-angle camera — 13MP with f/2.2.

The 120Hz refresh rate OLED display will remain, but there won’t be an LTPO panel. Battery capacity is also unchanged — 5,100 mAh with 23W charging support, which is exactly the same parameters as the Pixel 9a.
A similar situation is expected with the processor. According to the leaked source code, the Pixel 10a will get the same Tensor G4 chip as its predecessor. It will be paired with 8GB of RAM and a 128GB or 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. The newer Tensor G5 is noticeably more powerful than the G4, though still inferior to top-end Qualcomm and MediaTek solutions, but it doesn’t appear to be coming to the Pixel 10a.
The Pixel 9a was unveiled in mid-March, but fresh rumors point to an earlier launch for the Pixel 10a — the smartphone could go on sale as early as mid-February. Four color variants are expected: Obsidian, Berry, Fog and Lavender. By comparison, the Pixel 9a was offered in Obsidian, Peony, Porcelain, and Iris colors.
