Apacer has introduced an eco-friendly line of SSDs made from recycled plastic
Apacer has launched a new line of Eco portable drives aimed at environmentally conscious users. The series includes the AH270 Eco USB flash drive and the AC236 Eco external hard drive. Both are housed in 100% recycled plastic material (PCR). At the same time, the company introduced the AS714 portable SSD, designed for mobile use.
Apacer says the launch of the Eco lineup is in line with global sustainability goals. According to a 2022 OECD report, the world generates about 353 million tons of plastic waste annually, with packaging accounting for nearly 40%. The company said the Eco range helps to reduce environmental impact by giving used plastic a second life.

TheAH270 Eco supports USB 3.2 Gen 1 and features a USB-C connector for broad compatibility with laptops, tablets and smartphones. The flash drive is available in 64GB and 128GB variants and weighs just 5.8g. A hole for a lanyard is also provided. The device works with Windows, macOS, and Linux and comes with a five-year limited warranty.
AC236 Eco — a 1TB or 2TB external HDD built around a 2.5-inch SATA drive. It supports USB 3.2 Gen 1 with transfer speeds up to 5Gbps. It is — 10.8mm thick and weighs — 139.5g, about 14% less than most similar devices. According to Apacer, the drive has withstood more than 10,000 connections and disconnections, is equipped with an intelligent power-saving system and automatically enters power-saving mode after 10 minutes of inactivity. The warranty — 3 years.


The AS714 portable SSD is introduced along with the Eco lineup, focusing on mobile shooting and high data transfer speeds. It supports USB 3.2 Gen 2 with read/write speeds up to 1000MB/s, is compatible with Android smartphones with USB-C as well as iPhone 15 and later, and supports direct ProRes video recording. It comes with a silicone case with lanyard mount, and IP65 dust and water protection. The SSD can withstand a 1.22-meter drop and is available in 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB versions.
