Casio unveiled a limited edition G-Shock MRG-B2000KT-3A watch inspired by Japanese sword art
Casio has launched a new limited edition G-Shock MRG-B2000KT-3A watch inspired by traditional Japanese sword art in Japan. Only 800 pieces will be made, and each one is hand decorated by master metalsmith Masao Kobayashi.
All 800 pieces will be made, and each one is hand-embellished by master metalsmith Masao Kobayashi.
The design of the watch is based on the image of a tsuba, a guard between the blade and the hilt of a sword that serves not only as a protective but also as a decorative element. The bezel is decorated with an image of a phoenix in the Shishi-Aibori chasing method. The phoenix, a symbol of peace and prosperity, is carved by hand with a hammer and chisel, making each piece unique. The bezel is made of titanium with a green DLC coating that mimics the color of “kuroganeiro”, a black iron characteristic of the blacksmith’s art. Four emeralds, symbolizing wisdom and spiritual power, are set into the screws of the bezel.

The watch case has a special texture reminiscent of “niya,” the crystalline pattern that appears on the blades of hardened swords. It is made of recrystallized titanium and coated with a brown AIP layer for added strength and a touch of copper. On the side of the case, near the 9 o’clock marker, is a plaque engraved “2025 LIMITED”. The dial has a gradient coloring from red to orange, and the arrow feather pattern refers to the amulet “hamaya”, which, according to Japanese traditions, protects from evil spirits. All the decorative elements are made with precision at the Yamagata Casio factory.
The strap is made of dark green Durasoft fluorocarbon rubber, which is soft, wear-resistant and fade-resistant. It is decorated with the Bisamon tortoise shell pattern, a symbol of strength and resilience. The titanium buckle is also coated with a brown AIP layer for added durability.
The MRG-B2000KT-3A is water resistant to 20 atmospheres, Bluetooth for automatic time synchronization, solar recharging and radio control compatible with signals from Japan, North America, Europe and China. Features include a powerful Super Illuminator LED backlight, world time for 300 cities, stopwatch, timer, alarm clock and power-saving mode.

The watch measures 54.7 × 49.8 × 16.9 mm, weighs 138 g, and features a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. The case and bezel are made of titanium, and the crown has a screw-down design. In the absence of a radio signal or Bluetooth connection, the watch is accurate to ±15 seconds per month.
