In addition, a firmware update to version 1.7.0 added an additional delay in Launch Control activation – the electric car didn’t immediately respond to acceleration to prevent abrupt starts.
Xiaomi attributed such measures to safety concerns: driving a car with more than 1,500 hp without proper training is a risk not only for the driver, but also for others. But buyers who paid more than 6 million rubles (529,900 yuan) for the SU7 Ultra felt they were being sold a “conditionally powerful” car rather than a full-fledged car – and demanded full unlocking.
