YouTube announces smart Shorts creation with AI

In the spring of 2025, YouTube unveiled a set of new Shorts features designed to make life easier for creators. Key updates include a smart video editor, synchronizing clips with music, AI sticker generation, and experimental tools in the Inspirational tab.

The new features include a smart video editor, synchronization of clips with music, AI sticker generation, and experimental tools in the Inspirational tab.

New video editor: precision and creativity

YouTube has completely overhauled its built-in Shorts editor, adding features long requested by users. Authors can now make spot edits – trimming clips to frame-accurate accuracy, rearranging clips, and deleting unwanted sections. Auto Zoom helps synchronize video with music, and frames are automatically linked to the track’s rhythm when a song is selected.

Personal photo templates and AI stickers

Updated Shorts Templates now support uploading images from your smartphone gallery. This allows you to quickly create videos with unique visuals without wasting time searching for stock images. Another novelty is AI-stickers. Just enter a text description (e.g., “confetti”) and the neural network will generate a sticker that you can add to your video.

Inspirational: a tab for experimenting with AI

All of YouTube’s AI tools are now collected in Inspirational. Available here “Create Video”Restyle, which allows you to remix licensed tracks. You can use it to create a 30-second unique soundtrack for your video.

What does this mean for creators?

YouTube is clearly betting on AI tools to compete with TikTok and Instagram* Reels. Simplifying editing and automating creative will help newbies gain an audience quickly, and help experienced bloggers save time. But there are risks: the mass use of templates and neurostickers can lead to monotonous content.

The new features are still being tested, but a mass launch is expected in the coming months. To get early access, it’s worth keeping an eye on the app for updates and activating beta tests in the settings.
