Dyson Supersonic r: the professional hair dryer will be available to everyone
By ForGeeks Dyson has announced that it is expanding the availability of its high-tech Supersonic r hair dryer. Previously only available to beauty salons and professional stylists, the device will be available to everyone in the US from tomorrow and in Europe in April.

Supersonic r, introduced in 2024, is an evolution of the original Dyson Supersonic hair dryer released in 2016. The novelty is characterized by reduced dimensions (30% smaller) and weight (20% lighter), which makes it more convenient to use. The design of the device resembles a lowercase ‘r’, which not only adds style but also improves visibility when in use.

The key feature of the Supersonic r is the compact 130,000 rpm motor located in the handle for better weight distribution. Three disk heating elements provide even heating with no cold spots. The attachments are magnetically attached and feature RFID technology that automatically adjusts the hair dryer to the optimum heat and power settings depending on the attachment being used.

Color options and price
The consumer version of the Supersonic r will be available in two new colors: «Ceramic pink» and «Jasper plum». It will be priced at $569.99, the same price as the original Supersonic.
For professionals, Dyson will continue to offer a special version of the hair dryer with an extended power cord. A new color – «Copper and violet» – will also be available in the summer.
Where and when to buy?
