Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 (Feb. 4)

February will kick off with Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. The latest role-playing game from Warhorse Studios — the long-awaited sequel to the medieval classic. The historical epic takes players to 15th century Europe and sends them on a good old-fashioned campaign for revenge. The game’s main appeal — a huge medieval sandbox that gives players plenty of opportunities to take down first-person opponents and build character in a deep role-playing system. If all of this has become familiar to you, then you’ll probably want to play it.

Rift of the Necrodancer (Feb. 5)

If you’re into rhythm games, Rift of the Necrodancer is worth checking out. The sequel to the hit Crypt of the Necrodancer twists the Guitar Hero formula by replacing musical notes with monsters that you have to kill by pressing a button at the right moment. It sounds simple, but it opens the door to complex mechanics where each monster has its own rhythmic rules to learn. With a fantastic soundtrack and full modding support available at launch, this game could be one of the best rhythm games of all time.

Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 (Feb. 11)

It’s hard to say which is the top release this month, but Civilization 7 — one of the most serious contenders. In the latest installment of Firaxis’ strategy series, players will once again have to build a civilization from scratch and guide it through three eras. Along the way, players will have to engage in diplomacy with other nations, build cities and manage trade resources. All of this should be familiar to longtime Civilization fans.
Lost Records: Bloom and Rage Tape 1 (Feb. 18)

At first glance, you might consider Lost Records: Bloom and Rage to be a brand new Life is Strange game. And it would be justified. The narrative adventure is created by Don’t Nod, the studio behind Life is Strange (which has since been taken over by Deck Nine Games). Lost Records looks like a return to the series in its best years, with a ’90s horror-style story dipped in punk rock. The first half of the game will be playable as early as February, with the second half due out in April.
Avowed (Feb. 18)

Obsidian Entertainment is known for some of the best RPGs of all time, so any of its new releases should attract attention. This month, the studio will return to the world of Pillars of Eternity with Avowed. The new release will take players to a magic-filled world where they will fight a mysterious plague. It feels like another good fantasy RPG from a studio that knows its stuff.
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii (Feb. 21)
.

It’s a little odd that Like a Dragon has become an annual series like Madden, but it’s hard to complain when developer Ryu Ga Gotoku keeps releasing such consistent games. This February it takes the strangest step — releasing the spin-off Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii starring Goro Majima. The title kind of speaks for itself. You are in for a thrilling adventure connected to the events of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. This game will have everything that fans like so much. And a nice bonus and addition will be battles on ships.
Monster Hunter Wilds (Feb. 28)

February will end strong with what could be the biggest game of the year if Grand Theft Auto 6 never comes out in 2025. Monster Hunter Wilds — is a continuation of the action-RPG series with an even bigger sequel filled with ferocious monsters and with a greater emphasis on story. Judging by what has already been shown in the demos, the sequel has come out well. The game continues to build on everything that was done in the first installment. With an improved adaptation system for new players and the power of current-gen consoles to make the game even more impressive, it’s going to be one of the highlights of the month.
