The best TV series of 2024: from Gentlemen to Fallout

The only thing better than movies are TV series, and they’ve been coming out a lot lately. Sometimes they are better at telling a story, not clumping the plot unnecessarily, and immersing the audience in the right atmosphere for a long time, so that when you watch it, everyone says, “Well, I guess one more episode and go to sleep.” Of course, that’s all well and good when there’s a balance and the story doesn’t stretch on indefinitely.

And now it’s the perfect time to summarize the series, and to remember what was so good to film and show us this year.

The Gentlemen.

The eponymous Guy Ritchie movie shot in 2020 and made a very strong impression on audiences, combining everything we love so much about Guy Ritchie movies. And only a TV series can be better than this movie. The TV series, by the way, has been rated very highly, and here’s why.

So far.

TV series

The plot expands on the “Gentlemen” universe, telling the story of Duke’s son, who, having inherited an inheritance, wants to get out of the illegal business as soon as possible. And of course, it’s not that easy. The film maintains a great balance of gunfights, black humor and the charisma of the actors. So, if you want to look at the mafia again, this series is for you.

Ripley.

Andrew Scott is brilliant, and hardly anyone would argue with that. Just think of his roles as Moriarty in BBC’s “Sherlock Holmes” or as a priest in the second season of “Trashy”. And now he’s starring in a series about con man Tom Ripley.

And now he’s got a starring role in a series about con man Tom Ripley.

TV series

The plot is based on the novel by Patricia Highsmith, and tells viewers that Ripley commits a murder and takes the places of a happy man. The entire series is shot in black and white, which adds to the picture’s unique charm and nostalgia for monochrome movies and TV series of the last century. Very aesthetic series, which you want to watch without hurrying, paying attention to all the details.

The Baby Reindeer.

A twenty-first century psychological drama about traumatic experiences and self-discovery. The mini-series tells the story of a failed comedian, based in part on Richard Gadd’s biography. The plot centers on a failed comedian and an annoying female fan. But things aren’t as simple as they first appear.

The story of the failed comedian and the annoying fan is not as simple as it seems at first glance.

TV series

The series tackles the dangerous subject of collision and stalking, which, alas, some works romanticize. The story is not simple, the acting is top notch and the series itself will suit those who like drama, strong emotions and are ready to think about what is going on. It is honest and frank, and that’s what it is, and that’s what it’s good for the viewers.

Fallout.

The series was honored at the The Game Awards for Best Video Game Adaptation. And justifiably so. Who did not play the games of the same name, can happily watch the series, and all the questions just google it. But fans of the series understand everything without any words.

series

It doesn’t retell the story of any part of the story, just follows the conventional rules of survival in a post-apocalyptic world. And in fact, the disaster plot builds quite unexpectedly, which surprises the audience. The actors’ performance is top-notch, the creatures we were shown look wonderfully frightening, and in general Fallout really became the adaptation of the favorite video game that everyone was waiting for and deserved.

The 3 Body Problem

.

The sci-fi series based on the popular novel by Chinese writer Liu Cixin has also received high praise. It all begins when a physics scientist sends a signal into space. It is picked up by aliens and they prepare to invade Earth, but it takes them several hundred years to reach our planet. After that the plot takes us to the present time, where scientists one after another commit suicide. because all the physical devices begin to give their own, and based on them their knowledge seems to become false.

TV series

The series starts right away in riddles and questions that we get answers to gradually. Interesting series especially for those who love science fiction. The play of actors is excellent, the setting and the scale of what is happening – at the height. So if you want to watch something serious about scientists, this series is a great choice.

Segun.

The highly acclaimed and highly rated series, which has been recognized even in Japan, tells us about an English navigator, John Blackthorne, who finds himself in Japan just in the midst of internecine warfare. He goes from a mere prisoner to the right-hand man of the power-struggling samurai Toranaga.

TV series

This is an interesting, beautiful historical series that grabs your attention entirely. It’s a great chance to learn about history, but also some points may be confusing if you’re far from the subject.

It’s Agatha All Along

.

In addition to the movies that Marvel puts out regularly, they’ve started doing TV series as well. Some of them are pretty successful and cool – like “Wanda/Vision” or “Falcon Eye” – and some of them were not particularly successful – “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier”. All of them were in one way or another related to characters who appeared in the movies or were even main characters in them. But the series “It’s All Agatha” decided to tell us about a character who first appeared only “Wanda/Vision”. So what came out?”

Best TV series of 2024: From Gentlemen to Fallout ()

Something unusual, distinctive, but very interesting. Kathryn Hahn is charming and charismatic in the role of Agatha. You don’t have to know the plots of the Marvel movies from the get-go to watch this series. The only thing you can familiarize yourself with is Wanda/Vision, but that’s just for a quicker immersion into the atmosphere. So if you’ve long wanted to see something about witches, mysticism, but with humor, then the series “It’s All Agatha” – perfectly suits you.
