WhatsApp is testing a feature to mention groups in statuses

WhatsApp has begun testing a new feature that lets you mention group chats in statuses. The feature is already available in the latest beta version of the Android app on the Google Play Store.
What’s new?
- Mention groups in statuses:
- Users will now be able to notify the entire group in one step, instead of mentioning individual members (limited to 5 contacts at a time).
- When mentioning a group:
- All its members will receive a notification, except those who have muted the sound for this group.
- The mention message will appear directly in the group chat itself.
- Easy notifications:
- .
- The status mentioning the group will be automatically available to all its members, regardless of their current privacy settings.

Potential limitations
It is not yet known if this feature will have limitations, such as:
- Maximum number of members in the group that can be mentioned.
- Limit on the number of groups that can be mentioned in one status.
Why is this important?
The feature simplifies group interactions by allowing you to quickly notify all members. This is useful for:
- Organizing events.
- Discussions in large communities.
- Emergency notifications.
WhatsApp continues to improve the statuses feature, making them more versatile and functional. The full launch of the feature is expected in the near future.
