A ranking of the best Marvel movies of the fourth phase of the CWM

A ranking of the best Marvel movies of the fourth phase of the CWM

Many consider the fourth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to be the bottom for the franchise. After the MCU seemingly peaked in “Avengers: Final Destination,” Marvel Studios succumbed to ambition, trying to draw in audiences and create too much content in a short amount of time.

Marvel Studios has been trying to get too much content in a short amount of time.

The MCU has nonetheless produced some great movies, such as “Shang-Chi” and “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” and has shown great promise for its ongoing Multiverse saga. While the franchise is struggling to get back on its feet, we shouldn’t forget that there were some great movies in Phase Four.

The MCU has made some great movies in Phase Four.

7. Dr. Strange: Multiverse of Madness (2022)

Marvel

The sequel to “Doctor Strange” caused quite a stir as the comeback film of “Spider-Man” director Sam Raimi. And the movie also opened up the vast possibilities of the multiverse. Perhaps there is too much in this story: humor, cameos, references. But at the same time, the movie is characterized by its dark tone, Raimi’s distinctive style and his love of classic horror.

The movie is a dark and dark film with a dark tone, a distinctive style of director Raimi and a love of classic horror.

While after “Wanda/Vision,” the Scarlet Witch’s transition to villain may seem too abrupt, she remains one of the MCU’s most complex and tragic figures.

 6. Black Widow (2021)

Marvel

Everyone has waited too long for Black Widow’s solo movie. Because a character with such a secret past, has been undeservedly neglected by her own movie. We’ve finally been shown Natasha Romanoff’s life before she became a Shield agent. This spy thriller completed the Black Widow’s journey. Admittedly, the mystery that Budapest was shrouded in in her storyline was somehow overrated.

And the mystery that was shrouded in Budapest in her storyline was somehow overrated.

Having introduced the world to characters like Elena and the Red Guardian (both of whom will appear in Thunderbirds in 2025), the movie ensures that Natasha’s legacy will live on for a long time to come. It’s not the most prominent or groundbreaking Marvel movie. Nevertheless, “Black Widow” is a thrilling adventure with heavy action sequences, witty banter and a heartfelt story about finding family in a harsh world.

 5. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022)

Marvel

After the tragic death of actor Chadwick Boseman in 2020, the sequel boldly decided not to recast the main character. And with that, it made it so that along with the actor, his character also passed away. That choice became one of the most emotional movies in the MCU, as the movie shows how Shuri and the rest of T’Challa’s loved ones try to survive without Black Panther when King Namor shows up in Wakanda.

The movie is a great way to show how Shuri and the rest of T’Challa’s loved ones try to survive without Black Panther when King Namor shows up in Wakanda.

“Wakanda Forever” — is not just another gripping comic book epic. It’s a heartfelt exploration of loss and grief as Shuri learns to cope with her brother’s death and become the kind of leader her country needs.

 4. The Eternals (2021)

.

Marvel

The Eternals movie tells a version of humanity’s history in the MCU, showing the development of civilization after the intervention of immortal alien heroes, expanding the franchise’s interstellar world and imagining its creation by the hands of the all-powerful Celestials. At first, handing director Chloe Zhao the keys to Marvel’s cosmic realm, fresh off an Oscar win, seemed like a guarantee of success.

After all, the MCU is the only one of its kind in the world.

After its release, Zhao’s movie stood out from the rest of the MCU. “The Eternals” gave audiences a dazzling cinematic adventure by introducing new, diverse characters. The movie also makes you think about a story about free will and morality on a grand scale. Unfortunately, The Eternals has also been one of Marvel’s biggest disappointments. This may be due to the fact that this movie has a much more serious message and darker tone than many of the movie copmany’s other films. Marvel audiences were not ready for that.

3. Thor: Love and Thunder (2022)

Marvel

“Thor: Ragnarok” set the bar high for God of Thunder and director Taika Waititi. Christian Bale stands out for his tragic, monstrous portrayal of Gorr, the butcher god, and Natalie Portman, played by Jane Foster, has gotten a terrific reboot as the Mighty Thor.

“Thor: Ragnarok” is the best of the bunch.

Many feel the film suffers from an overabundance of awkward, half-hearted humor and unfinished CGI, becoming a prime example of the MCU’s post-“Final Destination” decline. But at the same time, the fourth Thor movie featured some of the most emotional scenes at the end. It’s worth understanding that we’re not talking about a serious character, but rather Thor, whose character and behavior haven’t gotten any more serious since the first film.

Most of the movie’s action sequences are not serious.

2. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021)

Marvel

Following the lead of “Black Panther,” the kung-fu blockbuster brought more East Asian representation to Hollywood as it introduced the MCU’s first Chinese superhero — Shang-Chi. It also finally gave fans a glimpse of the villain they had been waiting years to see — the real “Mandarin.” Xu Wenwu, re-creating the controversial character for modern audiences.

Su Wenwu.

The climax in the third act, filled with fantastical flying creatures, may be a bit too overstated, but the dragons… Dragons! They’re worth it!

“Shang-Chi” — is a must-see superhero movie thanks to its engaging family drama, interesting and well-developed characters and thrilling fight scenes, including some of the best action sequences in the MCU.

1. Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)

Marvel

There was no Avengers movie in Phase Four, but “Spider-Man: No Way Home” more than made up for it by being the crossover movie for the ages. In this threequel, the three real Spider-Men unite against their foes from across the Multiverse in the franchise’s biggest adventure yet. But this movie isn’t just fixated on fanservice, as some might think.

And it’s a movie that’s not just about fan service, as some might think.

The movie “No Way Home” reminds audiences of what makes Peter Parker such an appealing hero, as he saves everyone he can and lives the ordinary life of a teenager until he has to make the ultimate sacrifice. This movie also put billions back into the box office after the pandemic forced viewers out of theaters, making it one of the most significant MCU films to date.

It’s also one of the most important films in the MCU.

This movie shows that Marvel is “still a decent” movie company that just needs time to take a little break from the incredibly heavy and massive “Final Destination” and finally turn its attention to other characters.
