Top PS5 games with the best graphics in 2024. Part 1

Although the differences between the generations of game consoles are becoming less and less noticeable, you can always expect a significant improvement in graphics when you buy a new device like the PS5. The PS5 Pro is already making noticeable gains, but it won’t be until the PlayStation 6 that graphics take the next big leap forward.
Nevertheless, even compared to the best PlayStation 4 games, the visual improvements in the best PlayStation 5 games are staggering. Not only is the resolution higher, but new technologies like ray tracing are available and starting to appear in more and more games.

It’s been a few years since the PS5 console came out, and we have a huge selection of both updated games and new ones created specifically for it. However, there are a few games that stand out and deserve the attention of anyone who wants to show off their new console’s capabilities.
There are a few games that have a special place and deserve the attention of anyone who wants to show off their new console’s capabilities.
All of these games are not only visually impressive – and not necessarily photorealistic – but also immensely satisfying. Graphics aren’t the only criteria for judging a game, but as we’ve seen, the best-looking PS5 games are often the most fun to play, too. We’ve compiled our picks for the best-looking PS5 games.
Dead Space

We were deciding between the Dead Space remake and the Resident Evil 4 remake, but settled on the former because it uses every pixel to heighten the horror of those elaborate environments. The original looked great in its time, but the new lighting and fog effects make Ishimura seem even more ghostly than before. If that’s not frightening enough, the new way of dynamically stripping flesh from necromorph bodies is alarmingly detailed. Horror — it’s the kind of genre where graphics and art style can completely ruin a game’s experience, but in this remake, everything looks great.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade was already a terrific game as an improved port of the PS4 game, but Rebirth was created specifically for the PS5, and it shows. Despite the much larger scale, nothing has been simplified or cut up to make every blade of grass or spike of hair look as realistic as possible. As the action unfolds, all those particle effects and colorful combos are a visual treat. After the dreary and dusty city of Midgar, the sight of such a gorgeously realized world is a great motivation boost, convincing you that this world is worth saving.
The Last of Us Part I
The Last of Us was the most beautiful game on the PS3. So much so, that the PS4 remaster could argue with games designed specifically for the new hardware. While it can be argued whether a remake is needed for a game that is so easy to play, the one thing no one can deny about The Last of Us Part I, — is that it is undeniably beautiful to look at. Every character model, environment and animation (including a few new ones) have been completely redone and created to look as close to reality as possible.

Despite the lack of ray tracing, The Last of Us Part I offers a choice of two graphics modes: performance and fidelity. In performance mode, the game runs in dynamic 4K resolution at 60 frames per second (fps), while in fidelity mode the graphics run in true 4K resolution at 30 fps. Either way, the apocalypse has never looked so disturbingly beautiful.

Horizon Forbidden West PS5
The original Horizon was one of the most beautiful games for the PS4, so there were high hopes for Horizon Forbidden West when it was announced. Even though the game was released on PS4 as well, the world of the game really shines in the PS5 version. There isn’t a single centimeter in Horizon Forbidden West that doesn’t feel hand-crafted. All the lush environments that blend nature and the ruined remnants of our world, dynamic lighting, fog, haze, snow, and other weather effects make it feel like a real place.

The character models are stunning, especially noteworthy for Scarlet’s hair, but it’s the cars that still reign supreme. Each of them move with a level of detail that most people wouldn’t even notice if they were playing normally. And that’s to say nothing of how crisp and detailed all those metal plates and articulations are up close.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits

Kena: Bridge of Spirits is in the same realm as Ratchet and Clank, not trying to be a perfect recreation of our world, but again showing beauty in stylization. The characters, in particular, are on that edge where they have realistic features but with little exaggeration and smoothed edges. You won’t see anyone’s skin markings in Kena: Bridge of Spirits, but their eyes will twinkle with delight and their bodies — shrink with fear. Despite the not-so-saturated color palette, the world is expressive and a character in its own right.
So far, it’s not the only one that’s not overly saturated.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
When you’re hurtling through New York City at breakneck speed as Peter or Miles in any of the dozens of costumes to choose from, it’s hard not to find your jaw dropping. Spider-Man 2 somehow manages to be one of the brightest and most gorgeous sandbox games on the PS5, not only maintaining a smooth 60 fps, but also implementing ray tracing regardless of the graphics settings you choose.

From the scenery of the setting sun reflecting off the skyscrapers to the small details in each costume — this game is a visual delight from top to toe. The only thing to quibble with — is the lack of environments, though this time you get access to a much larger New York City that feels just as colorful on the PS5 and has as much character as the spiders themselves.
Here’s the thing.
