Google announced the launch of its new Gemini Live neural network

At the launch of its new smartphones, Google also unveiled a new feature of its neural network. Gemini Live mode, according to the developers, turns a chatbot into a full-fledged interlocutor with whom you can simply chat in a free manner, without thinking about the correctness of voice commands.

Google officials called Gemini Live a socializing app and likened it to a friend you can always share new ideas with or practice an important conversation with. The neural network can answer questions in a male or female voice (10 options to choose from).

Synthesized speech from an AI conversation partner can be interrupted at any time, asked to go deeper into a topic, or paused to return to the conversation later. And you can talk to your smartphone even when it’s locked.

Gemini can input data into Google apps on its own – for example, composing emails in Gmail. In the coming weeks, the company will give the neural network access to Google Keep and Tasks, and expand its integration with YouTube Music. For example, you can take a picture of a concert flyer and ask it to set a reminder to buy a ticket.

Gemini Live can be used in place of Google Assistant by assigning the neural network launch to a press of the power button or the phrase “Hey Google.” In this mode, Gemini can be asked about the subject of the video currently playing on the screen, asked to generate an image, and manually drag and drop it from the Assistant window into Gmail, for example. Google plans to integrate the neural network into Google Home, Phone, and Messages.

So far, it’s not sure how to integrate the neural network into Google Home, Phone, and Messages.

The Gemini Live AI assistant is available in English only with an active $20-per-month Gemini Advanced subscription.
