Android Automotive will get an update with support for messengers and VoIP calling

Previously, Google strictly controlled which apps were available on Android Automotive, limiting their functionality and categories. Now the company is opening up a new category «Connectivity» that will allow users to install communication apps in their cars.

Messenger support will allow you to read and respond to messages while driving using the voice assistant, or enter text from the keyboard when the car is parked. VoIP apps will enable audio calls while driving.
