A new smartphone without social media has been unveiled – Light Phone 3

Five years after the launch of the Light Phone 2, the developers have unveiled the third model in the series. It replaces the E-Ink screen with an OLED panel, but stays true to its core purpose — to help users with everyday tasks without letting them get distracted by social media.

Light Phone 3 features a monochrome 3.92-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1080×1240 pixels. There is an 8-megapixel camera on the front and a 50MP main module on the back — the rear. Inside, the device has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor, with 6/128GB of storage.

The smartphone has two noise-canceling microphones during calls, stereo speakers, GPS, Bluetooth, Bluetooth, NFC, a fingerprint scanner and an eSIM module with 5G support. The aluminum body (106×71.5×12 mm, 124 g) is IP54 dust- and splash-proof.

The vendor promises that Light Phone 3 won’t have social networking, email and other newsfeed apps. Video calling and image processing algorithms for the camera are planned to be added in the future.
