Spotify brings back integration with DJ software
Spotify has announced support for popular DJ platforms like rekordbox, Serato and djay. Users will now be able to access their library and playlists right in their desktop DJing apps.
There is one condition — the feature is only available to Spotify Premium subscribers. The integration has launched in 51 countries at once. To get started, simply log in to your favorite DJ-software via your Premium account.
A similar feature existed previously, but Spotify stopped supporting third-party DJ apps in 2020, presumably due to licensing issues.
The service has been undergoing a major update in recent months, adding support for lossless streaming and a built-in messenger. But many have criticized the company for its extremely low payments to artists, despite annual revenue of nearly $17 billion.
