Portronics introduced Lithius Cell lithium-ion batteries with USB-C and long battery life
Portronics has launched the new Lithius Cell series — rechargeable AA and AAA lithium-ion batteries with USB Type-C connector, designed to simplify everyday tech use. The line offers a cleaner, longer-lasting alternative to disposable batteries.
The Lithius Cell batteries feature a built-in USB-C port, so they can be charged with any standard Type-C cable without a separate charger or docking station. Each battery provides a stable 1.5V voltage, allowing them to be used in a wide range of devices — from remotes and cameras to wireless keyboards, toys, watches, game controllers, and even simple medical equipment.

Portronics has equipped the batteries with an LED indicator: it flashes blue while charging, and glows steadily when full capacity is reached. The case is made of a sealed, reinforced, pressure-resistant material. The internal design includes several levels of protection against short circuits, overheating, overvoltage, overdischarge and surges.

The AA variant has a capacity of 1,480 mAh (2,220 mWh) and supports DC 5V/0.5A input and DC 1.5V/2A output, making it suitable for power-hungry devices with long run times. The AAA variant offers 440 mAh (666 mWh) capacity and supports DC 5V/0.1A input and DC 1.5V/1.5A output — an ideal choice for compact gadgets.
The two versions utilize low self-discharge technology, which allows batteries to retain up to 80% of their charge even after long periods of storage. According to Portronics, this extends battery life and promotes more environmentally friendly use.
