OnePlus 13T beats iPhone 16 Pro Max and Galaxy S25 Ultra in battery life test

OnePlus 13T beats iPhone 16 Pro Max and Galaxy S25 Ultra in battery life test

Compact flagships are making a comeback – and now they’re not sacrificing runtime for size. New batteries based on silicon-carbon (Si/C) technology have changed the game: smartphones with screens up to 6.7 inches can now feature batteries of more than 6,000 mAh.

Silicon-carbon (Si/C) batteries are now available in sizes larger than 6,000 mAh.

OnePlus 13T is a prime example of this revolution. It’s got a 6,260mAh battery and in a new comparison test, it beat out several big-name flagships: iPhone 16 Pro Max, Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, Xiaomi 15 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL and even the basic OnePlus 13.

Who has how much capacity?

  • OnePlus 13T – 6,260 mAh
  • OnePlus 13 – 6,000 mAh
  • Xiaomi 15 Pro – 6,100 mAh
  • Galaxy S25 Ultra – 5,000 mAh
  • Pixel 9 Pro XL – 5,060 mAh
  • iPhone 16 Pro Max – 4,685 mAh

The gap is impressive on paper, but it’s not the numbers that matter, it’s the actual battery life. The test compared not only battery capacity, but also how the devices behave in real-world scenarios.

Winner – OnePlus 13T

OnePlus 13T proved to be the most survivable flagship in the test. It lasted 32 minutes longer than the iPhone 16 Pro Max, which in turn beat the Xiaomi 15 Pro by 6 minutes. The Galaxy S25 Ultra shut down 19 minutes before the Xiaomi and just 14 minutes earlier than the base OnePlus 13.

The Pixel 9 Pro XL, despite having a 5,000mAh+ battery, was the first to give up – high case temperatures and erratic power consumption plagued the entire test.

Why OnePlus’ result is impressive

  • Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 Elite – in four models
  • Apple A18 Pro – in iPhone
  • Google Tensor G4 – by Pixel

The iPhone has previously demonstrated excellent battery life thanks to its optimized iOS. The Galaxy S25 Ultra was a pleasant surprise: despite a slightly redesigned design, the device demonstrated good power efficiency – the result of the software work is really noticeable.

But still OnePlus 13T is the protagonist of the test. The manufacturer has managed to combine a compact body, an advanced silicon-carbon battery and competent optimization. This is not only a technical success, but also a signal to the industry that autonomy is back in the forefront.

What does this mean for users?

If the trend for Si/C batteries continues, we’re in for a new wave of standalone flagships – without having to sacrifice body thickness. Chinese manufacturers like OnePlus and Xiaomi have been early adopters in realizing this potential, and the success of the OnePlus 13T shows that movement in the right direction has already begun.
