Kia has registered two trademarks in Russia until 2034
A South Korean automaker that left the Russian market has been granted patents for vehicle sales and electronic transmission of automotive data. The registrations were finalized in January 2026. Kia, which has ceased operations in Russia, has registered two trademarks in the country.
Patent filing and validity dates
Applications were received by the Office in August and October 2024. Trademark registration took place in January of this year. The term of validity of the registered patents will last until 2034, according to the Rospatent database.
The patents grant Kia the right to sell passenger cars, motor boats and bicycles in Russia. The registration also covers activities related to the electronic transmission of automotive information and data.
