Huawei unveiled the MatePad 11.5 (2026) with a new processor and Soft Light screen

Huawei unveiled several new products in China yesterday, including the nova 15 series smartphones and the Watch 5 10th anniversary version of the lineup. As part of the same event, the company also announced the MatePad 11.5 tablet from 2026.

The Huawei MatePad 11.5 (2026) is largely the same as the 2025 model debuted in July, but it gets a different processor and a number of minor improvements. The tablet features an 11.5-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 2456 × 1600 pixels, a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and peak brightness of 600 nits. A Soft Light Edition with an anti-glare screen coating is also available.

The Soft Light version is powered by a Kirin T82 processor, while the standard model uses a Kirin T82B chip. The device runs HarmonyOS 5.1, which includes various AI-based features as well as Huawei’s AI Health Learning 2 system.

For photo and video communication, the tablet has a 13-megapixel main camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing module. A 10,100mAh battery with 40W fast charging support is responsible for battery life. Other specs include — Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and a four-speaker system.

MatePad 11.5 (2026) is available in Deep Space Gray, Frost Silver, Feather Sand Purple and Island Blue. Pre-orders for the tablet are already open in China via Huawei Vmall and other online marketplaces, with official launch scheduled for December 25.

The base version configured with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage in the Wi-Fi-only variant costs 1,799 yuan (roughly $255). The Soft Light Edition version is available in several variants: 8/128GB for 2,099 yuan (about $295), 8/256GB for 2,299 yuan (about $325), and 12/256GB for 2,799 yuan (about $395).
