Honor has unveiled the Magic8 and Magic8 Pro flagships

Honor has officially unveiled the new Magic8 and Magic8 Pro smartphones in China. These are flagship models that have received a number of updates including a new AI button. Both phones are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor.
Honor Magic8 Pro features a triple main camera that includes a 200-megapixel telephoto lens with a 1/1.4-inch sensor and f/2.6 aperture, supporting 3.7x optical zoom and optical image stabilization. The main camera gets a 50-megapixel 1/1.3-inch sensor with f/1.6 aperture and OIS stabilization. Another module — a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with a 122-degree field of view.

The device’s display has a resolution of 1256 x 2808 pixels and a peak brightness of 6000 nits. The front camera is —50 megapixels. It additionally has a 3D sensor for face unlocking.
The Magic8 Pro in China gets a 7,200mAh battery, while the European version will have a 6,270mAh battery. The phone supports wired charging up to 100W and wireless — up to 80W.

The smartphone runs the MagicOS 10 shell and offers a suite of AI features, including the Yoyo virtual assistant. A separate AI button lets you long-press to summon the assistant and customize other actions.
Honor Magic8 Pro has IP68/IP69/IP69K body protection and is available in Sunrise Gold, Sky Cyan and Black colors. The device is — 8.4mm thick and weighs — 213g.

The base version of the Honor Magic8 also gets a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, but features a smaller 6.58-inch OLED LTPO display with similar specs. The smartphone features the same AI button and Yoyo voice assistant.
The main camera includes a 50-megapixel 1/1.56-inch sensor with OIS, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle module and a 64-megapixel telephoto lens with triple optical zoom. The front camera is — 50 megapixels. Unlike the Pro version, there’s no 3D depth sensor, but there is an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

Honor Magic8 gets a 7,000mAh battery with 90W wired charging and 80W wireless charging support. The smartphone will be available in the same colors as the older model.
Pre-orders for the Magic8 series are already open in China, and sales are scheduled to start on October 23.
