A leak from the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has confirmed that Apple is preparing new devices, including an updated MacBook Pro and iPad Pro with the M5 processor.

The documents revealed references to model numbers that don’t correspond to existing Apple products. For example, A3434 points to an unknown MacBook Pro, likely with an M5 chip. Numbers related to future iPad Pro products also popped up:

  • A3357 — 11-inch iPad Pro Wi-Fi
  • A3358/A3359 — 11-inch iPad Pro Cellular
  • A3360 — 13-inch iPad Pro Wi-Fi
  • A3361/A3362 — 13-inch iPad Pro Cellular

Although the specifications have not yet been disclosed, it is known that the new iPad Pro can support Wi-Fi 7. The MacBook Pro with the M5 will not, according to the documents.

The FCC documents are usually filed a few weeks before official announcements, so there’s a chance that the new iPad Pro will be unveiled before the end of the year. As for the MacBook Pro with M5, M5 Pro, and M5 Max chips, mass production should start soon, with a release expected in late 2025 or early 2026.

Interestingly, this isn’t the first time the FCC has been the source of leaks. Previously, the commission revealed the iPhone 16e’s schematics, something Apple clearly didn’t plan for. But it’s leaks like this that keep the industry interested.

So the new information doesn’t add details to future devices, but it does confirm: Apple is actively preparing the release of the M5-based MacBook Pro and iPad Pro.
