Motorola Edge 70 Ultra’s design is revealed thanks to a leak
A new batch of details about Motorola’s next flagship has surfaced online. A reliable source has published early images of the Motorola Edge 70 Ultra — the successor to the 2024 Edge 50 Ultra, since the Edge 60 Ultra lineup never came out. This is the first look at the brand’s future top-of-the-line smartphone that isn’t a foldable device.

The images published by AndroidHeadlines show the Motorola Edge 70 Ultra in two colors with a textured back panel. This finish is noticeably different from the eco-leather used on last year’s Edge 50 Ultra, and is reminiscent of coatings found on other brands’ performance models. The camera unit is located in the upper left corner and includes three lenses, hinting at a combination of a prime, ultra-wide-angle and periscope telephoto lens.

The body frame appears to be made of metal. On the right edge are the power and volume buttons, and on the left — a separate key that will likely be responsible for artificial intelligence-related functions.
The front is yet to be revealed, but expect a center hole for the front camera, thin bezels and a flat OLED display. The screen size is expected to be around 6.7-6.8 inches, and the refresh rate will be upscaled.
According to early reports, the device will get a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor — a solution a level below the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, which will be used in the most expensive flagships. In the Geekbench database, the model scored 2,636 points in the single-threaded test and 7,475 points in the multi-threaded test. The smartphone will feature 16GB of RAM and will run Android 16 with Hello UX shell.

Camera details are still limited, but there will almost certainly be a periscope telephoto lens, as well as improved main and ultra-wide-angle modules. Battery capacity and charging time have yet to be revealed, but the Edge 70 Ultra is positioned as a powerful premium smartphone, slightly behind future Elite-level top-end solutions.
The model is expected to be released in China under the name Moto X70 Ultra. No release date has been specified yet, but the smartphone is likely to be unveiled in the first quarter of 2026.
