Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Z TriFold, its thinnest and largest foldable smartphone yet

After months of leaks, Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy Z TriFold, a device with a new design that goes beyond the usual book-length folding format. It’s the company’s first production smartphone with a multi-stage folding design that combines the compactness of a phone with tablet-level workspace.

When unfolded, the Galaxy Z TriFold transforms into a 10-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen with a resolution of 2160 × 1584 pixels, 120Hz and peak brightness of 1600 nits. The external display is 6.5 inches diagonal, Full HD+ resolution and brightness up to 2600 nits. Both screens have 10MP selfie cameras, and the outer panel is protected by Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2.

The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset, complemented by 16GB of RAM and 512GB or 1TB of storage. The main camera includes a 200-megapixel module, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle and a 10-megapixel telephoto lens with triple zoom. The 5,600mAh battery is divided into three sections and supports 45W charging via cable and 15W wireless charging.
The device runs Android 16 with the One UI 8 shell. For the first time in the lineup, there’s a standalone version of the Samsung DeX: you can switch to the desktop interface right from the quick access curtain. Three apps can be launched simultaneously on the wide screen. A new double titanium hinge system makes folding easier and increases the protection of the internal display. The smartphone is 3.9 mm thick when unfolded and weighs 309 grams. IP48, Wi-Fi 7 and 5G support are also claimed.

Price and availability of Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold
In South Korea, sales will start on December 12 at a price of $2,500 (roughly ₹2.09 lakh). The model will be available in China, Taiwan, Singapore and the UAE by the end of December. The US launch is expected in the first quarter of 2026. For now, only the Crafted Black color variant is available.
